So I got up this morning and the scale is down another pound. I know...I know...I probably shouldn't have changed my ticker since it's possible it will go back up by Monday but what can I say...I just like seeing those lower numbers for a change. I was looking at my weight graph in Fitday.com and it looks like I've lost about 11 pounds this last month. I didn't realize it was that much! Anyway, I'm getting my head ready for another slow down since I know this is too good to last, but still.

What is amazing to me is that, looking back over my fitday record, the only change in the last 30 days has been my daily Protein grams. I went from about 120+ to around 70 (for the most part)...and suddenly started losing after months of just yoyoing.

Haven't eaten yet so off to Breakfast. Have a good one y'all!

Jackie-- WTG! I'm glad the band isn't the problem.

Melody-- I'm so happy for you on the 11, I hope you get the same thing next month too!

Bob-- I had to go repo a car last night so I couldn't come to the party, sometimes having your own business sucks! BTW, who the hell has a party on a Thursday?!?

Leigha,

You're a repo lady? Wow...I'll bet you have some stories to tell. Our neighbor is apparently living *way* above his income because they came out not too long ago and repo'd his jeep, his truck and his wife's SUV. I'm still waiting for them to come back for the 5th wheel trailer he has sitting outside his garage and not envying the person that does it. This man was so incredibly abusive that they had to leave and come back with the cops.

Hi, y'all!

Checkin' in! I'm down to 149 this morning -- wahoooooo! I'm a slow loser and I've lost 7 pounds since my last fill three weeks ago. That's 2.3 pounds a week for the last 3 weeks, where my average has been "only" 1 pound per week (ha ha, "only") since my surgery last January. I'm a happy camper! Was busy taking smiling pics this morning for sure! (I'm not *really* doing a duckface. Those pics were for my man, and we like to poke fun of the duckface that folks don in their online pics. Ha ha.)

I can definitely feel the fill loosening up. When I got this fill, I was thinking, "Whoa, mama, this is it!" but now I feel like I've got too much room for overeating, even though what I call overeating now pales in comparison to what I called overeating a year ago! I'm still losing, so that's a plus (or a minus, really!) My doctor is very conservative and he already thinks I've lost enough for my first year, so I doubt he's going to give me another fill in three more weeks. I don't know that I want one, anyway. We'll see. Just like what my goal weight will be. We'll see. Heh.

Leigha - Kudos to you for saving your neighbor's things and home! She's lucky to have you!

Christie -Go, mama! I bet you're on top of the world.

Shammah - I remember that from my early days of surgery. I was so miserable! I hope things ease up soon! I take Fiber gummies, and that helps.

Denise - Your husband sounds wonderful!

I guess we've lost Karen, my fellow South Jerseyan? :o

How are the rest of y'all doing? I am woefully behind in my holiday shopping. Ack! I've got 8 more days of work to plod through, and I hope to do the best I can without any prying eyes! My stepdaughters are challenging to buy for, because the 14-year-old just wants her stuff now (heck with that 'under the tree' stuff), and the 3-year-old likes to go everywhere with us and has the sharpest mind paired with the best memory! This will be challenging for sure!

Jacki

Hi Everyone,

Poking my head back in. Was gone for a few days. At an out of town meeting herding cats. About a dozen managers to facilitate. My hubby came along and we stayed at a beautiful hotel. One of the managers negotiated a great deal for us within the government's per diem rate. We got a nice chance to get away and relax. I didn't have much time to get online. Butters stayed with his girlfriend, Stella. He was tired and sore when we got home. Our neighbors have a big hill in their backyard. He loves to go up and down the hill sniffing and watering the plants. He's 8 now, it takes a toll. rolleyes.gif

Jackie from Maine, congrats on the 6 pounds!!! That's awesome.

Leigha, way to go on the puppy, can't wait to see pics when you get it.

Elfie, I had LASIK in 1999. It corrects vision problems due to the shape of your cornea. Mine was myopia and astigmatism. When presbyopia sets in, or the problem with the ability to focus close-up due old age, you need reading glasses. Due to the amount of astigmatism, my left eye remained a bit under corrected, or a bit near sighted, so I can still read many things without readers at 47, but the fine print, forget it, and each year my arms are getting shorter. I was able to go without glasses for years. I was told by my eye surgeon that this would happen, so it came as no surprise. Apparently, some surgeons do not tell people--they are shocked when it happens to them. But I love it, even with the pain of the readers.

Ok, well, I am off! Catch you all tomorrow!!

Sorry all for being MIA for a few days there...I was reading, just not posting.

Leigha-do we have a new puppy?

Bob-how is the healing coming along?

Jackie from Maine-CONGRATS on the weightloss and the no band problems!

Christie-YAY DATING!!! I am happy for you that things are going well and that he likes you no matter what size :D My husband married me fat so he must love me no matter what too (of course now he is a little more "attentive" than he was before)

Other Jackie-good to hear from you again. Congrats on the weight loss as well!

Me-I have been stuck at this weight for a while now. I guess I can't complain too much with the total unfill for 6 weeks and now still working (slowly) back up...coupled with the fact that it is Christmas time and food is EVERYWHERE! No gain is good I supposed, but lately I have had a major lack of motivation in the exercise dept. Thursday is my 1 YEAR! I so wanted to be "normal" weight by then, but losing about 25lbs before then would be pretty darn impossible. I don't know what it is. I just get depressed and melancholy around the holidays. It doesn't help that my last miscarriage 2 years ago started on Christmas Eve and finally ended on New Years Eve. I am also trying so hard to be a runner (well jogger) and it just isn't progressing like I had hoped it would. I can't even jog for a whole mile straight yet. I'm sorry I really don't mean to be a downer or bring anyone down with my negativity. I guess that is why I really haven't posted. I also find out Thursday if the band is still ok and I start school in a little less than 1 month (EEEEKKKK!!!). I am just a mess and need to get my head together and be more grateful for what I have and where I am and how far I have come, but of course saying it is so much easier than doing it!

Stacie, we all go through down times, it is OK. we are here to support each other, through the good and bad!

Ok, here is my stuck story of the weekend. DH and I went to PF Changs for lunch on Saturday. My band has been pretty fickle lately. I think due to the MIL stresses. So, I ordered the Dynamite Shrimp from the appetizer menu. DH and I were discussing Medicare/Tricare for Life/Medicaid...ooh fun. When the shrimp stopped going down.

So, I excused myself and went to the ladies room. I put the seat protector down to stop the backsplash and did my thing. Of course the room got very quiet just as I yakked up the offending shrimp. ("BaaHAAAK") As I was still leaning and sliming and yakking, I discovered that Changs as automatic flushers! OMG, I had a face shower! Yeah, good times. And I soooo wish that stall walls would go to the floor, I hate it that people can see your feet facing the wrong way. UGH.

Of course, when I made that observation to my DH, he said, well, just use the Men's room. No one would think twice about feet facing the wall in the the stall in there! Thanks, Honey, yeah, I wanna toss my Cookies in a Men's room toilet. I don't think so! Gross!

boom.gif So, other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Denise-sorry to say it...but thanks for the laugh. That would be so horrible! Ok...something I never thought of when I got banded and said I would be OK with no NSAIDS. I've been having shoulder pain and last night it was bad enough it woke me up. Went to the Dr's today and was told I have bursitis and tendonitis. Well....can't take NSAIDS so I get to go to an Ortho to get a cortisone shot (EWWWWWWWWW) and I am now in a sling...with my right arm of course, and the nurse was going to prescribe me Tylenol with Codeine to ease the pain...but I am allergic to Codeine. I think I will call my band Dr tomorrow just to see how strict they are on the whole no NSAID thing as I gimp around work being useless.

Stacey,

Why no NSAIDS with the band?

Melody

My surgeon is VERY conservative and won't let me take anything except Tylenol (acetiminophan sp??) because all of the other things could "potentially" cause ulcers and what not. I am going to call tomorrow and see if just taking them for a week or so would be ok as long as I don't make it a habit. If so then maybe I can weasel myself out of that darned needle.

You're welcome, Stacie! rolleyes.gif My surgeon allows me to take NSAIDS occasionally. I was taking them daily before my surgery for joint pain. If you cannot take codeine, can you take Vicodin? It helps with bursitis pain. Cortisone shots aren't bad. They do relieve the pain.

Sorry if I ruined your screen, Elfie!

Morning everyone!

So I've been busy baking up a storm for the last couple of days. I was feeling a bit depressed since this is a part of my traditional holiday season. Plus, I kind of felt bad because I'll usually take down several large cookie trays to the homeless shelter and I think after 10 years they kind of 'expect' it.

Yes, Sunday evening I did eat 6 Cookies (one from each of the 6 different types) and boy I will never do that again. I went to bed at 9 p.m. that night and woke up 2 hours later with a vicious "please kill me now" headache that I knew Excedrin wasn't going to touch. So I took a Vicodan and slept for 5 hours and when I woke up, it was just a dull throb at the back of my head. Oh yeah...I forgot how toxic carbs were for me. I went right back on Atkins induction on Monday and felt great by Tuesday morning.

I've still been baking up a storm and putting cookies in the freezer, but I am not the least bit tempted to eat even one. The memory of that headache is way too recent. And to think...I could've paid a shrink thousands of dollars for aversion therapy but I did it for free.

Have a good one!

Melody

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
