banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group

Recommended Posts

Hi Everybody, Well I am a little late posting today, I just got back from Dallas, I felt like I was a little too loose and so I called for an appt. for a fill. I was glad I did, we had steaks on Saturday and I ate a 4oz steak in 7 min. it was like I didn't even have the band, well maybe not, if I didn't have the band I would have had the whole 1 1/2 pound steak instead of only 4 oz. But still when I drank the barium it just went right through like the band wasn't there! So I got a .5 fill and we will see how that goes.

Anne, I have to take my food with me when I am going somewhere. I have a little lunch box with a reusable freezer bag, it is a lifesaver.

Bob- How was the Casino?

I guess I should do some work now, its 2:30

I need y'alls professional opinions. Is this a decent Meal Replacement shake? Its from smoothie King, I use to consider these to be a milkshake in disguise but I am wondering....

Are you sure about the cholesterol number because that seems to be a huge difference between mine and yours and since the fat in yours is higher, doesn't seem logical.

Hi All!

Made it home from NO on Friday then took off for Camping at a State Beach immediately upon our arrival home. Whew.

I am reading to get caught up. About 6 pages behind!

Will post about the trip when I am done. Missed everyone. My co-worker kept me out late every night!

Officially had my 1st PB today. I just had to have that 1 pretzel on my way out the door from work didn't I?? I wasn't even hungry!! That'll teach me (prob not). Have any of you had this happen....I went for fill#3 on Friday. I always have the PA do my fills and we both thought that at fill #2 I was at 4cc's. She pulls all of the Fluid out each time to check and at fill # 3 I was only at 3cc's. I lost a cc somewhere! Where did it go?? She told me not to worry it's not uncommon, but do I have a leak??? So now I am at 3.6cc's and hopefully when I go back on April 23rd they will all still be there.

PB= productive burping. Many graphic descriptions of occasions on the site, including this thread. Funny now, not when they happen apparently. I haven't had the pleasure of personal experience because I haven't had the surgery yet, but I'm sure I have it to look forward to !

Hi Everyone!!

Ok, read the pages I have missed!

Snow? What is snow?

Congrats to all on the victories of the week. Lost sizes, shopping (closet and stores), fitting into booths, small BP cuffs, and any others I missed!

I hear y'all on the shrinking boobs, ugh!

Welcome to the newcomers over the last week.

Elfie, sorry to hear you are still having the pain. Hopefully an unfill will help with that as well. Also, the finger down the throat is my way of ending a bad stuck episode. I figure stopping it quickly is better than suffering for hours and all the trauma involved. I feel very swollen after a bad stuckage, and it can take a few days of soft foods to feel normal again. I just go by how the tummy is feeling. But I agree with you that you might need an unfill.

New Orleans was fantastic! DH had a wonderful time. He went on a bus tour of Katrina Damage, he said it was very interesting.

The food was fantastic. I could be Cajun, oh yeah.

I discovered that bands do not deal well with eating while in a prone position. Two of the nights we snacked in bed, each of which I got stuck. Guess I should not have threatened Bob with Voodoo! Karma sucks. Is that mixing religions?

Betsy, I had Crawfish Etouffee (sp) and Gumbo for ya, yummy!!

I did more walking than ever, and with no problems! Our hotel was about 1.5 miles to the French Quarter. I walked both ways plus all around the Quarter each day with no major complaints from my body, other than the usual aching knee. THAT is something!

When we got home Friday we turned right around to go camping at a nearby State Beach with friends. I did more walking there, but not nearly as much.

Still on the antibiotics. I have a few more days of those. They are horse chokers and quite the challenge for a bandster to get down. I have to work up the courage to attempt it.

This morning, I took it while in bed in the motorhome, and yes, taking pills in a prone position is a bad thing for a bandster, too.

It got stuck. The slime started, and I felt like a hole was burning in my upper stomach! I got up and began moving around, sliming, coughing, nauseous. It finally cleared, but I thought it was going to come back up! These are the biggest pills I have ever seen.

I haven't been on the scale yet. I know I was burning lots of calories with all the walking, but I also wasn't eating my normal diet. I noticed I had "cankles" on Friday that were still there yesterday. This morning I could finally see my ankle bones. So I am sure there was loads of salt in everything I ate.

Think I'll give things a few days to settle down before getting on the scale!

Well, guess it's off to bed for me, as I am back to work tomorrow!

Take care everyone!

Denise, your trip sounds great. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Somehow I managed to get a really bad cold. I feel like crap. How many times of blowing your nose does it take to lose a pound? I hope it doesn't last long.

Oh yea. I've lost 80 pounds!

Denise--etouffee! My favorite! I'm glad you had a good time. Did Butters join you for camping?

I am pages and pages behind in responding to everyone...barring unforeseen catastrophes, I will get caught up today!

I saw under 200 for ....oh, three seconds this morning. I ran to get a camera to take a picture of 199.6---and when I hopped back on the scale it was 200.4.

Oh, well--it will show up again soon.

More later when I can appropriately respond to everyone--have a great day!

I had to call in sick today. This head cold is really kicking my ass and I don't want to spread it around. I don't have any benifits including sick leave, so it hurts my bank account too ...... bummer.

We are expecting more snow this afternoon. They are saying my area will get 12" - 24" ! I hope to work tomorrow, but the snow may stop that. I guess I'll just hunker down with my box of kleenex and cold medicine.

HB! Yay on the 80 lbs!! Totally cool! Blowing the nose has GOT to burn calories. If nothing else, it is quite the ab workout. Hope you are feeling better soon. Trying to stay warm in all that snow has got to burn calories, too!

I missed 2 1/2 days right before my trip due to my sinus infection.

Betsy: Yep, Butters went camping, along with his girlfriend, Stella the golden retriever and her family. He is soooo tired after spending so much time with her--he stayed with her while we were gone, too.

Congrats on onderland!!! Yay!!! Good work. Tell Truman he is a great trainer.

Welcome PhdGirl!! This is a great place to be. First week post-op isn't the greatest of fun, but it pays off!

Hello friends! Been MIA, busy and dealing with some issues, but...

I went to the doc on Friday, only got to record a 3lb loss (boo!) but I got a fill (yay!). I also lowered my resting heart rate by 20, which means my heart is in better shape! And I got a super thumbs up for my exercise efforts.

The weird thing is, I can feel the fill working, but I still ate poorly over the weekend (chips, pizza, Cookies all those naughty things)...BUT, I still managed to drop 3lbs over the weekend to 290, and this evening I'm 287! I recorded the 290, but I'll wait til Friday and hope I'm still 287. I hope that bad eating doesn't come back to haunt me!

AND, I'm officially down 100lbs from my heaviest...yay!

Sybaris was AWESOME! Hope you all are doing well...I've got a lot of reading to do!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
