How narrow is the range of perfect restriction?

Recommended Posts

So last week I wrote about not being able to keep even one bite of food down at a time and I could actually feel the pills I take going down, but barely. I could actually feel the pills going through the stoma, which gave me an idea of how small a hole it was. Anyway, I got an unfill of only 0.5cc and I'm back to not feeling restriction:frown:. Obviously I must have some if only a half cc more makes it impossible for me to eat, but why can't I feel it? Granted, I haven't tried to find out my limit of how much I can eat because that would be dumb.

How small a change was it between not feeling it and getting good restriction? Do I wait a while before even attempting another fill to put back the 0.5cc or do I try again in a couple of weeks and have do them in 0.1cc increments?

If you're hungry and/or able to eat to excess, make an appointment for a fill. You may find that .25cc is fine and you may find that even though .5 was too much at once, you still need another .5 or .75 or 1cc to get to the sweet spot.

I had 3cc, 3cc and then 2cc and they had to take out 1 because I was too full. A week later though they started putting it back in .5cc at a time and now I'm sitting above where I was when I was too full.

Yes, I would get a fill. Do what Elfie said to do. Pretty good advice from someone who's been there done that.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
