I got the call today...I'm approved!!! :cursing:

Now, its just a matter of getting my calendar in order. I'm so ready to do this, and to have to wait until late May to accomodate my job is really a downer. So, I am currently scheduled for May 24th, but will move it up if my trial schedule opens up.....someone cross their fingers my defendant pleas! :crying:

I read this too quickly at first and thought, you are on trial and getting a band!! Dang, your priorities are all messed up!

Sheesh! (silly me!) :cursing:

I had a bad stuck episode while doing jury service. Way fun sliming in the front row of the jury box!

(Sending thoughts to your defendant) you KNOW you did it! Buck up and take the heat!

hee hee hee!!!

Best wishes!

Too funny! Thanks for the chuckle...

I can honestly say that I've never seen a juror slime....or anyone else for that matter....I really hope I don't up being "the one" to introduce it at our court house.

I felt so bad, it was a very serious trial (not that every trial isn't serious to those involved). This was double murder. The prosecutor was going for the death penalty. The gallery was always full with reporters and interested parties. There I was with a wad of paper towels trying to be so casual while wiping away the goo.

I was waiting for the judge to stop the proceedings to ask if I was OK.

After that episode, I did not take my Vitamins at lunch any more, and was careful to eat foods that I knew would go down well.

Add to that, during closing arguments I accidentally threw my coffee cup at the defense attorney...yeah, it was quite the three month adventure!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
