No appetite--struggling to eat

Recommended Posts

I'm 2 years and 3 mo. post surgery. I've lost 110 lb. and feel great. I've gone from a size 28 to a size 12. Lately, though, I have lost all interest in food. I'm not too tight, I've had the same fill for quite some time and have been happy with my restriction. It's just that I have lost any and all desire for food. I have no interest, I make myself eat because I know I have to. I did just start back on Prozac because of depression and anxiety, and am wondering if that might be the cause. It seems that the lack of food interest started at about the same time I started the Prozac. Thoughts or suggestions anyone?

Yes that could be what is causing your lost of interest in food. There are many side effects to medications, so i would suggest you talk to your doctor about it and see what they have to say! BTW........Congrats on your weightloss success! :cursing:

Ditto on the side effects your doc can always switch up your meds..

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
