nichelle71 0 Posted February 26, 2010 I found out this morning I've been approved for surgery! I'm excited....elated...scared...a bundle of emotions:blink:! The surgery WAS scheduled for March but has to be pushed back to the summer now. My doctor is vacationing during March so that accounts for the delay (and I'm a teacher so no other extended days off until summer) I need advice of what to do between now and summer! That's several months and I don't want to mess up the progress I've made so far. That's plenty of time to slip back into old habits after I've worked so hard to be ultra disciplined for the last few months. I think I'll be OK because I've been really focused in preparation for this life change....but advice please, encouragement...anyone else have to wait all these months/postponed? What did you do in the interim? Thanks so much as usual for all of the love, advice and support from all of you. This is a great site to laugh, cry, vent, etc.... Blessings, Nichelle
banded213 7 Posted February 26, 2010 Hi just wanted to say Hello to a fellow teacher! I teach first grade, what about you? I was just banded on 2/13/10, I chose this day because of President's Day. I had surgery on Saturday and went back to work on Tuesday and I was fine. At times during the first week I would be sore but nothing too bad, I would just rest in my car during recess and lunch. I have no advice about sticking to a plan till summer, sorry. I could never stick to anything for more than a few weeks that's why I needed the band but since being banded I'm doing ok. Can you do it during Spring Break? Or is that in March for you?
nichelle71 0 Posted February 27, 2010 Hello fellow teacher! Yes, that's Spring Break for me. It's fine though, summer will work out ok. Just a little frustrating. More time to change old habits I guess :-)
