hi, congrats on your new life! I always have Protein Shakes on hand because some days the band feels tighter than others like the few days before your period it's hard to eat anyting. shakes are good for these days. Veggies that are good when they are steamed within an inch of there lives are good, you can get them really soft and almost mushy (broccoli, edamame, califlower, squash etc). Potatoes are good in moderation, oatmeal ( you can make it as liquid as you need to depending on your tightness. Proteins that are good, try meat that has been tenderized, I bought a meat smasher and it help break up the meat so it's easier to chew into smaller bites. Hope this helps

Not sure if the following foods are what you can tolerate right now but they might give you an idea for later on- some of my favorites are; cheese! string cheese or cheese cubes, yogurt (kroger makes a "carb-master" yogurt which is low in sugar and carbs), sugar-free pudding, sugar-free Jello, cottage cheese, no sugar added peach cups sweetened with splenda, scrambled eggs, 50% lower sugar oatmeal (made by quaker), chicken salad, tyson grilled chicken breasts, cooked broccoli, wendy's chili, weight watchers turkey dinner, lean lunch meats, skim milk, etc. I could go on and on! Hope that helps somewhat! :wink2:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
