I had a fill four weeks ago and I have vomited at least once each day on a good day bad day like today have all day even Water. I have had a kidney stone so Havent really felt like eating much anyway. Kidney stones have always made me sick and I should have had an unfill when it started but I thought it wouold pass and the band would loosen up. Called dr made appointment for in the morning I'm going to tell him to take all out so my stomach has time to calm. I did loose a pound today but who wants to loose it that away?have had lots of Protein Shakes over those weeks. Has anyone experienced kidney stone with the band? If so did you have these problems?? My dr is not in the office tomorrow so I see his under study thats what the office assistant called him. Any support would be good.

Good luck with the unfill, I cant really help on the kidney stone, I have never had them but I agree with the unfill if you are throwing up you could hurt yourself and have to start over. I hope you feel better soon.

I've never had kidney stones, but a good friend did and I remember how miserable she was until they passed.

Question...why are you vomiting? Or are you just PB'ing and sliming? I ask because some people confuse the two. And were you vomiting/Pb'ing your shakes?

I had 3cc I went to the dr this morning and he took out 1cc and 1/2. I go back in two weeks and he said he will put some in then if needed. I feel so much better already. I had lsot 6 pounds since my last visit 4 weeks ago. I will probably gain when I go back in 2 weeks though cause yesterday I couldn't even eat. So when I start to eat solids i will probably show on the scale hope not though. Elfe I was pbing I guess cause when I would eat it would slowly work its way back out with slim and food Water actually projected back out. Is that what you call that pbing. I'm having homemade potato Soup for dinner and supper. Back to solids tomorrow.

I'm sorry you've had such a miserable time. Kidney stones have to be among the most painful experiences possible.

It sounds like you made a good decision, with the unfill. I hope you get lots of relief.

What is the plan for dealing with the stones? Are you getting enough Fluid at this point? Do you have adequate pain relief?

Potato Soup sounds like a wonderful, soothing idea.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
