Is the hiccup my cue

Recommended Posts

Please forgive my ignorance, but now that I have started mushies I am having a bit of trouble. I started with hummus, no real issue, then some chili I put through the food processor, again no problem, then onto chicken salad--not all at the same time--three different meals. When I ate the chicken salad--which was not as mushie as the rest of the stuff, I had what I'm guessing was a "stuck"--super painful, could feel it just below my espohogus and thought I was going to hurl but it passed. I started thinking about the food, one of the things that got me to my current weight was that I never expereinced feeling full.

Today I was very careful with my chicken salad and took much smaller bites, chewed extra carefully and put my fork down between bites. I get a little hiccup and then if I take another bite it gets tight and uncomfortable--is that full? Is that first little hiccup my warning sign not to take in anymore because I am full?

Patsal

Everyone is different and has to find their own full indicators.

For me I have gone too far when I hiccup. I need to stop when I start to feel pressure in my chest. It can be so difficult sometimes. I just want to take one more yummy bite, but I have learned not to push it. It is just not worth the pain.

For me, it is my cue to stop. I have to take it very slow, and listen for it; if I am eating less mindfully, I can go past the point before the hiccup "tells" me to stop---but that is definitely user error on my part.

When I eat slowly and pause after bites to "ask" myself how I'm doing, then the hic will tell me, "Enough" before I've gone too far.

(Admittedly, it's hard to go far when limited to 2.5 oz. of Protein at a meal, but it's been known to happen!)

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
