Too tight or shouldn't eat immediately after exercising?

Recommended Posts

I got my third fill on Monday (about 6.5 ccs total in 10 cc band that can hold 12 ccs). I don't think I'm at my sweet spot yet, but I'm definitely feeling some restriction.

Tonight, I got dinner started (turkey chili) and while it was simmering, I went downstairs and did 30 minutes of exercising. I drank little over 1/2 bottle (16.9 oz) of Water, then ate a small bowl (maybe a cup, if that) of chili, and just under an ounce of cheddar cheese.< /p>

Within moments of finishing eating, I start coughing. It's not because I'm coming down with a cold. I can feel it (whatever it is) in my stoma region.

Do you think I probably ate too soon after exercising? Or perhaps I'm too tight? I haven't yet drank any water, as I wait an hour after eating, and that time is almost up.

Any input would be welcome.

Thanks!

You probably were suffering from a bit of dehydration after exercising which caused you to be tight. I appear to be fairly sensitive to this sort of thing and I have to be careful to have lots to drink before I even think of eating my first meal of the day.

Luckily, the coughing didn't last very long, just about two hours, although it was only intense for about 5 minutes. I have a feeling I just should not eat so soon after exercising.

I cant eat well after exercising. Not for hours actually if its a really hard session.

Other times, I can eat absolutely any food, so I am most definitely not even a bit tight, let alone too tight.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
