OMG, I am soooo happy!!!!! I have the biggest smile on my face today! I told a few friends at work that the day I came in wearing a dress, they would know I had lost 100 lbs. (I always wear jeans to work.) Well, today was the magic day!

Here are my before and after photos; they are also in my profile, along with progress photos.

I'm sooo excited!!!

Thanks, everyone! I was banded on May 7, 2009, though I had lost a few pounds on my preop diet. The before picture was taken the day before I started my preop diet.

Hi - thanks so much for reply - it came across my e-mail. But how do I go in and access replies to me. I can't quite figure this thing out. I have a reply from Hummingbird and don't know how to retrieve it. Thanks for the help and for your positive message.

Can you eat regular food after a certain time - ?:smile2:

Go to the upper right-hand corner of the LapBand Talk page, where your login name is. It should say, Welcom, shurtado. Underneath that is a link to Private Messages. Click on that link and it will take you right there. :)

You can eat any food you want, but it's just like any diet, you have to consider which foods are really best for you. As you'll see in my PM, I made a huge change in what I ate. No white sugar, no white carbs. But not everyone does that. You do what you know you can live with.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
