Very, very bad day

Recommended Posts

I was banded on 12-21-09. I had to wait untill this past Wed. for my first fill. It was a sizable fill (4.6 in a 10. band) but I still can eat as much as I want. I can not see my Dr. untill 3-15-10, and it usually takes 2 weeks or so to schedule a fill. So far today I have ate cupcakes and pizza(I'm still suppose to be on mushies from my fill). I have no restriction, have not had any vomiting, PB's, nothing. Basically just having another "poor me" day and venting.:) Thanks to everyone for sharing there thoughts and insights.

That is why this period is called "Badster Hell". I hope you gain a little comfort from knowing you are not alone. When you arrive at restriction (and that will be very soon, just 2.5 wks!!!!) you will fondly remember this day of pizza and cupcakes. I wish I had had pizza the last time I had an unfill because I am craving it mightily and just can't eat it.

Have your pity party but know that restriction is coming.

Best wishes,

Mimi

Don't sell yourself short... according to your ticker you've lost 32Lbs.

Forget about the bad things you already ate and focus on making a good plan for the rest of the day and the rest of the week.

You can also burn those foods off by taking a walk.

Get that junk food out of the house or ask your family to keep in a place that you don't have to look at it. Out of sight out of mind.

I can't take a walk. It is pouring rain and we still have a ton of snow on the ground. And as far as the bad food I went out and bought it today. I know things will get better and I NEED SPRING!

I'm here holding your hand! I just got my third fill today, and becasue of the problems with tightness after my last fill, can only have broth and juice type stuff for two days, then full liquids (Shakes and cream Soups) for two days then Mushies for two days before adding back in chewable food...

My Fill was at 9:30 and I'm already starving to death... I had just gone shopping and loaded up the fridge with all sorts of delishous nutricious foods and I have a big batch of hummus I made a couple days ago just calling my name!!!

Trust me, you will eventually get restriction and you will be so happy... I'm hoping to make up for the ZERO weight loss of the last three weeks by losing at least 5 pounds over the next 6 days..... As long as I don't starve to death and wither away first... Haha.....

seriously... enjoy eating while you can because once you're restricted it will end. also remember, the band is only a tool... YOU have to CHOOSE the healthy food!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
