StephenB745 0 Posted February 22, 2010 Hello All! My name is Stephen Bennett, and I am a Senior in High School. I am 18 yrs old, 296.4, and 5' 7". My scheduled surgery date is 3/2/10. The purpose of this thread is my concerns during college. I am going to Arcadia University in the Fall for physical therapy and was wondering if there were younger people who areor have gone through a similar situation. 1.) How was college life with the band? 2.) Was there a cafe that helped you out with regards to your surgery? 3.) Did the band interfere with classes? These are just a few of my concerns, but I figured for my first thread I would start it out with this! Please let me know if you have any experience with this ~ Stephen Bennett
thebandedgirl 0 Posted February 23, 2010 I was banded a few years after I graduated from college, but I don't think the answers to your questions are much different than they are for anyone else. Life with the band is much like life without the band. You have to be more mindful of what you're putting in your mouth than most people. Eating out is a matter of knowing what works well for you. If you know that squishy breads give you problems, don't eat squishy breads. I can find things to eat on every menu, and I have yet to experience one restaurant that's more helpful than another. The band shouldn't interfere with classes. How would it?
