Here are few recipes - the Soup and chicken lasagna i have had and both are awsome, the bean sandwhich my friend sent me thinking the protien would be good i still need to try it...

Bean sandwich mix

1 can chick peas (garbanzo beans)

Finely chopped onion and red pepper

2 small sweet pickles chopped

salt and pepper to taste

1-2 teaspoon mayo

Mash up drained Beans and add the rest. Mix it up and spread on bread or roll up. Yummy and filling.

Tomato and rice soup

1 can condensed Tomato Soup

1 bag frozen vegies

1/2 cup rice

2 can Water

1/2 can milk

salt and pepper to taste

garlic and onion (optional)

Chopped chicken(optional)

Bring soup, water, and veggies to a boil. Turn down and add the rest. Let simmer 20 minutes until rice is tender. Serve yummy!

Chicken lasagna

1/4 cup fresh cilantro or 2tbs dried

1 pkg cream cheese - i used low fat

2 cups shredded mexican cheese

1 medium onion -

1-2 cans enchilada sauce

12 corn tortillas

3 cups cooked chicken - I ran this through the food processor with the onion to make it more ground like tuna -

soften cream cheese in micro, add cilantro and 1 1/2 cups mexican cheese.

pour 2/3 cup enchilda sauce in bottom of baking dish, dip corn tortillas in sauce as you go,, place 3-4 in tortillas in bottom of pan, add 4 good size spoonfulls of cheese mixture and then a layer of chicken.. repeat each layer ending with tortillas and i poured some enchilda sauce over the top .

Cook on high in micro for about 15 minutes.

This is actually a pampered chef recipe and you use the deep covered baker to cook it in the micro.. but you can use any micro safe dish,, this was very soft, very filling and i had to problems eating it.

I am sooo jealous! You can eat corn tortillas and rolls??!

Everytime I think, "well maybe today will be different" and do a stupid and try even the tiniest bite, I'm in the bathroom sliming it up. :frown:

About all I can manage is the 'diet' bread (you know, sliced half as thick as a regular slice of bread) and it has to be toasted well...or those really dry, thin melba toast rounds.

I dont know if i can have rollups i have not tried them-

I was just as suprised that the corn tortillas went down well,, i dont know if it because they are dipped in sauce and soft or what lol -

rolls and regular bread dont work for me at all ....

These sound great! I'm not ready for rice and tortillas yet--but yum.

I bet with a little tweaking, the bean recipe could be made into patties for grilling, a la veggie burger.

Thanks for posting!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
