Wow. Joyce Thank you for the encouragement, I can't even imagine what I will look like next year, right now I am focused on the preop and the 21 days after surgery. One day at a time. KS_sxychoc 0 Posted July 2, 2010 Hello! It's been a few days since I've been on due to madness. The pre-op diet is still going fine. Thank goodness I can have coffee.< /p> I had an appointment last Tuesday with the surgical center and this morning I had to give another blood sample cause they messed up the first one. Then at around 10:30 this morning I have another visit at the doctors office in prep for Tuesday's surgery. The hardest part will be getting through the weekend. Since it's a long holiday weekend...we don't have anything planned. And when I have nothing to do--> i think about food.< /p> Any free activities that I can take a 16 year old to???? I hope you all have a great July 4th and be safe!!!
ladykcusa 1 Posted July 3, 2010 Lots of community fireworks with food stands (for the 16 yr. old). Have your Protein Drink before you go. SF pop sickles and SF Jello for you all weekend. You CAN DO THIS.
KS_sxychoc 0 Posted July 3, 2010 Getting laundry done before my big day. Also trying to pack for a short trip a couple of days after surgery. I've also been getting supplies ready for "after". As I was wandering around Crate and Barrel, I found a cute 6" purple plate that will be my new plate. I also purchased the smallest set of utensils to go with it. Actually they are horderves utensils.
ladykcusa 1 Posted July 4, 2010 Good preparation. Well done.
KS_sxychoc 0 Posted July 5, 2010 Well, this is it. Tomorrow is my big day. I'm trying to get some last minute things taken care of. If you have any suggestions...I'm open for any of them. I've learned alot from being here and I hope to continue to learn from those of you that have gone through this. I hope you all had a great 4th of July!! oldoneyoungagain 200 Posted July 5, 2010 Well, this is it. Tomorrow is my big day. I'm trying to get some last minute things taken care of. If you have any suggestions...I'm open for any of them. I've learned alot from being here and I hope to continue to learn from those of you that have gone through this. I hope you all had a great 4th of July!! Good luck. Remember to drink (sip) fluids, have Gas-x on hand (I used the strips), benefiber is something else I had, plus a mild laxative (didn't use it though). Take your pain medication (if you need it). I also slept in a recliner for a week, my thinking was that I'm not totally reclined then the gas/air would not travel as easily to the left shoulder that everyone complains about. Gravity has it uses in this case:lol:, don't know if this works for everyone, but after having some other surgeries to me this was a breeze. I only used pain meds for 24 hours starting at 7:00 PM the night of surgery. And once again, don't be concerned about any weight loss for the next six weeks. This is the time to heal. So good luck on your journey to a healthier and leaner you. Please keep us updated.
ladykcusa 1 Posted July 5, 2010 Good luck tomorrow and think positive. For me, the surgery was simple, like have my teeth cleaned. No problem. No shoulder pain, and I slept in bed from the first night. (Just not on my tummy) Can't wait til you are a banded lady.
tigermomof3 1 Posted July 6, 2010 One week from today is my surgery day. I am starting to get really nervous and have some anxiety. I know it is because I know my life will completely change and that makes me a bit nervous. From those of you who are already banded, did you ever regret your decision??
ladykcusa 1 Posted July 6, 2010 No regrets - and your anxiety is normal. Make a list of all the reasons you want to weigh less. Success awaits. Look at the photos on this site. Joyce
KS_sxychoc 0 Posted July 6, 2010 It's all done. The only discomfort I have is from my ab muscles. And they have felt worse from my body building days. Not sure what we're going to do for my daughters birthday tomorrow. I thought about getting her an ice cream cake, but she doesn't like cake. Thanks to you all again. You have no idea how important you have been to me. I know there is still alot to learn and I will continue to come here for advice. Have a good one!
ladykcusa 1 Posted July 7, 2010 KS - Yeah - you did very well. Enjoy daughters b'day tomorrow.
