ReRe&LyLaSMoMmY 0 Posted April 15, 2010 I am officially a BANDSTER BUNNIE, I was banded on the 13th. I doing well today,(Thank God) the first couple of days were rough on me, while the band was being placed the doctor saw that I had a hernia and had to repair it and I honestly believe that has been causing me the most pain, the gas in the chest isn't fun either, but I haven't let that mess with my positive attitude. I am keeping my head high and so looking forward to going shopping for cute clothes and wearing a cute bathsuit this summer!!! Congrats to all that have been banded and Good luck to all who are awaiting their turns.

IAmJacksLapBand 5 Posted April 16, 2010 I love reading all of your stories! I can identify with so much of what everyone is saying.. the food pushers at work, the fear that they will find cancer or something when they open me up... I am jealous of you who have gotten it over with, but so grateful for your tips and insight from the "other side"... My doc doesn't require a preop diet but after reading your posts I think I may just do one anyway. My date is the 27th so that will give me just under two weeks. Monkey Mama we are set for the same date! Best wishes to you... can't wait to hear your success stories. I am on a 14 day diet.... and have horrible headaches... but no hunger. No, you are not alone. My surgery was 4/7/10 and I can finally turn over and lay on my side with minimal pain. It was pretty painful at first. Now I am having more itching than pain.:crying:
Lori in Spokane 0 Posted April 16, 2010 No, you are not alone. My surgery was 4/7/10 and I can finally turn over and lay on my side with minimal pain. It was pretty painful at first. Now I am having more itching than pain. I was banded on the 7th and my port site is still sore. I twisted wrong and wow, that was awful! Anytime I have to cough or sneeze, I have to hold my hand over it so it doesn't hurt as much. I was able to lie on my left side in bed after two days though, so that helped. The gas from the surgery caused the most pain from the pressure, but I walked around pretty often and by day 5, it was a lot better. Hang in there....and wishing speedy recovery to all! Karlzmom 1 Posted April 16, 2010 Well...off to my final surgical consult today. I think the doc will be pleased as I am at the upper end of his desired pre-op weightloss. Check in later!
hpygirl30 0 Posted April 16, 2010 Hi Everyone! Congrats to everyone who is banded.. I have one more week so this time next week I will be banded and at home experiencing the gas pain I am sure! I started the pre-op diet today and the shake wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and actually made me feel full. Good luck and speedy recovery to everyone! bogus01 0 Posted April 16, 2010 Banded on wed Apr 14th. Today has been good so far. Really gassy but the GasX strips are really helping. Still sore but moving around and trying to get my liquids in. Hopefully I'll make it outside tomorrow for some fresh air. Congrats to all who have been banded and good luck to those who are still waiting to be banded.
marsmom 2 Posted April 16, 2010 It is still a little sore to lay on my port side (banded on 4/6) but is getting better. Pillow props are great. Anyone else have suggestions for getting bandages off nicely? They said to take them off when steri-strips start peeling but I took off two and started bleeding? Life is looking good!
