liliax3 0 Posted April 7, 2010 Wow, i'm so impressed with everyone who's up and walking after surgery. I had my surgery on monday and I am still in so much pain. I'm just walking around the house for now. My back Injuries from a previous accident is making this a lot harder I guess. Good luck to everyone banded this week! Stay strong. I love to read all of your posts, it helps us to know kind of what to expect. I have a question today I was told that they are going to use the Realize band instead of Lap-Band, have any of you had or know someone that has had the Realize Band? Each and everyone of you are amazing!!
mimi368 0 Posted April 7, 2010 I had my surgery yesterday. I felt pretty good until last night. I started getting sore, especially around the port area. The Loratab helped though. Today I am really sore on the right side where the port is, but I am so glad to be back home!

Ashley08 0 Posted April 7, 2010 Hello all fellow April bandsters!! I had surgery Friday April 2nd. Everything is going great so far! No real problems, mostly gas which I have seen pretty much everyone complain of. I am in the "itchy incision" time now! Most all pain is gone, I am not taking any pain meds and have moved onto my full liquids phase of eating! I am personally having trouble getting all my Protein needs met! I have been trying to drink the Special K Protein waters and that has been going well...my Protein shakes on the other hand are just not doing it for me! Does anyone have any suggestions or is it just going to take a little while for me to be able to get back into the shakes... Good luck to everyone with upcoming surgeries! You'll do GREAT!! My Weights: 03/31/10: 260 04/02/10(surgery day): 258 04/07/10:

I had a friend come up to me yesterday trying to talk me out of it because she said she knew ppl that had died from this surgery! I about DIED!! Scarred me so bad I went home and researched the percentages of deaths with Lapband!! I am still going through with it because I have Jesus in my heart and on my side!! Each and everyone of you are amazing!! I have the Realize band but I couldn't tell ya the difference. Moments before I went into surgery the nurse told me she had both. I told her to give me whichever she thought was best. I know there is a thread here comparing the 2. I'm sure if you do a search for it you'll find it. I have my follow up appointment on Friday and I will definitely ask my dr.

mimi368 0 Posted April 7, 2010 Hi all! Sorry about the short post earlier about my surgery yesterday, but I was sooo tired when I got home from the hospital I just had to take a nap in my own bed! I got there yesterday at 6:30 and I think the surgery started about 8:00. It took about an hour and then recovery for about an hour. I have 5 incisions. The one with the port is on the right side. I am having a lot of soreness, especially around the port incision. I am not really having any gas pains which is great. I am not hungry at all. I am having to make myself drink my Clear Liquids. My advice is to walk as much as you can. It does make you feel better. I get stiff and more sore after laying around. I am excited because my surgeon took me off my blood pressure medication! It got really low during surgery and after. I guess losing those pounds on the pre-op diet and no caffeine anymore helped that situation! So, everything is going well for me. Good luck to all the others getting ready to have surgery! It is definitely worth it so far!!!
