patsal 1 Posted February 17, 2010 is the right dose? I am on Lortab right now , but I will have to work on Monday (teacher) and I am not sure what the dosage amount on liquid tylenol would be. I may not need it, but as sore as I am right now I doubt I will be pain free by Monday!
BetsyB 9 Posted February 17, 2010 The usual adult dose is 325 to 650 mg every 4-6 hours. It's not a good idea for anyone to translate this into liquid dosing for you, because different Tylenol preparations contain different dosing per mL--if the bottle you pick up is more concentrated than mine, it can spell liver damage. The packaging will tell you how many teaspoons/mL translate to the appropriate dose. I hope you feel better fast
Humming Bird 275 Posted February 17, 2010 They do have OTC adult strength Tylenol and the dosage is on the bottle. It has a dose cup on the lid.
Melinco 1 Posted February 17, 2010 I have the adult extra-strength liquid Tylenol at home and it says that 2 tablespoons (or one cap full of the little caps that comes with the bottle (not the lid itself)) is the same as 2 extra-strength Tylenol caplets or capsules. That is what I take currently for headaches and such. Immediately following my surgery (meaning the first 10 days or so) my instruction sheet told me to take less, so I'd ask your doctor what his recommendations are if he hasn't indicated already. oceansunset24 0 Posted February 18, 2010 Ya def ask doc, mine said adult strength liquid tylenol 2 tsp mixed with adult strength liquid motrin 2 tsp (and if can't find adult take 4tsp childrens each) the mix worked well, pain and swelling wise. Think the tylenol I got said "rapid blast" it tastes horrible, but worked and I couldn't find adult motrin so used the kids mixed w/adult tylenol! Good luck
