Hi, I'm going to the doctor tommorrow for my third fill. The first fill he put 3cc in and the second one he put 1cc My question is on this visit I probably only lost maybe one of two pounds. Has anyone else done this. I'm a little nervous but do not i need another fill.

Are you asking if you need another fill? You only lost 1 or 2 pounds since your last fill? If that is the case I would want another fill! My last fill I I had only lost 3 pounds from my previous fill so I went from 4.5 to 6.5 (in a 10 cc band) and I am still not really feeling restriction so I would go in again tomorrow if they let me, haha!

Why do you think you only lost 1-2lbs? Are you going to the gym? Eating the right things? If that's the case, maybe only getting a little tweak will help. You don't want to over fill it because it sucks a lot when NOTHING goes down. I haven't lost anything in like 3-4 months and they won't give me a fill. SUCKS. I feel like I need one and sometimes I don't. It's annoying.

Are you nervous about going because you only lost a pound or 2? Don't be. I am sure they won't be judgemental. If they are, find a new doctor. All the best!

no i know I need another fill i just didn't know if i would be in trouble from the doctor for not losing very much. He has me go in every 6 weeks for a fill. He is very nice just wondering if anybody else has not lost much between their fills.

I'm only 6 days post op, so take this with a grain of salt - but I just had to intercept that last comment you made.

Please remember that this is YOUR journey - NOT your doctors. If he gives you a little talking-to or some suggestions for doing better - even a challenge to do better next time......that's one thing. But if he makes you feel like a child or belittles you for not losing enough - go elsewhere.

We overweight folks have had our share of bullies, and there's no room for them in our support system - ESPECIALLY if you're paying them!! Surround yourself with positivity - not negativity! Hopefully, your doctor (and staff) will prove to be supportive instead of combative.

Just my 2 cents!! Good luck!

hello,

I just got my first feel today I am 4 months post op and I really had to pull some legs to get my fill today. I wanted to know that I have been averaging 1.65lbs without the fill and wanted to gauge how much weight could I possible lose additonal weekly since I now have a .3cc fill. I do follow my diet was suggested to increase the Protein and I workout 6 days a week. Any suggestion I would appreciate as I am trying to lose 15-25 by my b-day in 8 weeks.

I was banded end of October and have had a number of fills. the last few that I have had showed a weight gain.

But, I have gone down in a pant size.

Remember that muscle weighs more than fat. Don't let the scale measure everything for you.

As for your doctor.

With mine I can get a fill every two weeks. Most insurances work it every three to four weeks for a fill.

If you want to get more fills, more often than the six weeks, talk to the office staff. The doctor or nurse will guide you into a shorter schedule.

Best of luck.

Until we reach true restriction we should all be getting fills. Once you can only eat less than a cup of food at a sitting and stay satisfied you are at your sweet spot. Weight loss should average 1-2 lbs a week. And NO doctor should make you feel bad about weight gain of how much you lose. As a PP stated a little "talkin' to" in one thing but belittling is out of the questions. Best wishes!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
