Help! Very tender stomach, banded 10-26-06

Recommended Posts

So, I have had my band and I love it by the way for more than 3 years. My weight has gone from 325+ to now 225 and I have and do work our 4 times a week, nothing to strenous, walking very fast and toe touches as well as arm swinging fro rotation of waist. NOW, I am feeling like something is wrong cause of this tender area. I can feel my port but feels like it is not laying as it was before. I can and do eat solids and Soups porpotionately and they stay down so I am not sure waht is going on. The tenderness is just below my center - top of stomach and the tenderness is and has been there for 3 days now. What do or would you do. I know about -run to the doctor and have it checked so please do net tell me that. Just trying to find feed back from anyone who may have experienced this in their journey and what their results were for resolve. Thanks in advance.

For the both of you, you should call your doctor right away and set an appointment. It maybe imposed some serious threat that you don't know. As cliche as it sound, prevention is always better than cure.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
