NSV and scale victory

Recommended Posts

As with many people, I do not like to take pictures--to do so is like a broadway production because I have to do several takes just to get one I can tolerate to look at. Well, I went on my Valentine Weekend getaway and took a look at the picture on the right--my body has changed--people have been saying it, but the picture is really worth a 1000 words after 4 1/2 week post-op. My victory--I have a neck!!! ( I'm the first one in the picture to the left)

As for the scale--after being stalled for 2wks, the scale moved--down 3lbs since last week.:)

ROFL...congratulations on finding a lost body part! I was sitting in bed reading the other day and excitedly told my husband, "Look, honey! Knees!"

You look AMAZING! I can't believe what a difference 4 weeks made! I just got banded on February 4th and this board really inspires me! Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks--a lot of my weight was loss pre-op though. This site is inspiring--so glad I found it prior to the surgery! What is frustrating is I look smaller than I really I am.

I found my ankles within weeks of my surgery. Never knew they were so lost as I have thick ankles and wrists even when "thin", plus huge calves. But when the constant bloat (which I did not realizes I had) went down I found my ankles! Still thick and always will be, but def there!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
