Anyone else pretty full on their band and can still eat a lot? I remeber the nurse telling me she was at like 6ccs and could only eat like 2 crackers and a small thing of tuna and be so full she couldnt move. I must have an Iron stomach?? OR? Have you talked to your doctor? I am sure he would have some suggestions to help you out. Good luck

I have 10.4 and have some restriction, but not enough. I don't know how much they can fill it beyond its capacity.

Yep. I'm at 11.5cc in a 10cc band. Just a few nights ago I ate an entire hamburger, bun and all, with some potatoes and baked Beans and a large brownie. I had to eat it slowly but I got it all down without getting stuck. Then again, last night I had an 8oz hamburger steak, could only finish about 3/4 of it, threw up about a 1/4 of what I ate, and only had a couple of fried green beans with it. So go figure. But I do feel that I can eat more than I should be able to so I have a fill scheduled on 3/11. I have been told, informally, that the band can probably hold up to about 14cc.

 maybe you stretched your pouch. Have them check it!

What can they do if you stretch your pouch out? The surgery would have been a waste!

I had my first fill and they put in 4.5cc. I am still hungry, and I can eat an entire salad. I thought my new pouch would only let me eat small portions. I usually eat a chicken breast, broccoli and carrots for dinner. I am full, but I am surprised how much I eat. If I eat less then I am hungry. I am very frustrated!

Not a waste, it happens. It can happen to gastric bypass patients too, look at Carnie Wilson. Anyhow. they would have to check via xray to make sure. When you eat alot even after you really are full there is the chance you can stretch it. but it sounds like you just may need more restriction. Talk to your doc and see what he thinks.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
