I was banded on Tuesday.

had Clear liquids in small amounts until today. Had 4ounces of milk for Breakfast and at11am had 6 ouches of a yogurt smoothing.

I feel like I wanted to vomited. I am very restless. I am quite miserable. Have been walknig around a lot but it is not helping. Is this normal?

Yes, it's normal. Things just don't sit right immediately.

Milk can be VERY hard on the digestive tract, and bariatric patients often find themselves to be lactose intolerant postop. Since being banded, I can't tolerate milk. cheese is ok, but milk makes me feel awful.

You might want to refer to your doctor's list of ok foods and see if there are others that would work better for you.

Yesterday was my two week anniversay for being banded so I still remember how I felt my first 3 days. I could eat the whole 6 oz. of yogurt or even the 4-6 of Protein Shake. I listed to my body and if I felt full I stop eating. As of yet, I have not vomitted. I don't think I started eating all the servings they told me until the 6th day. Perhaps, take your time in eating and don't eat the whole serving.

I was also banded on Tuesday and I'm feeling just like you described.

I haven't even tried milk or yogurt, just Jello and sugar free popsicles.

Good luck, to both of us!

I was also banded on tues. I hate to rub it in but have 4 Protein suppliments/day and 64 oz. of liquid (water, propel, powerade zero popsicles) and I havent felt the need to vomit yet. I started off just sipping because I was so scared and didnt know what to exspect but I drink quit a bit and havent felt sick. I actually am feeling great with the exception of terrible gas. I really hope things turn around for you and you start feeling better. Are you still on pain meds?

SO thankful for this forum! I'm glad I'm not the only one, I was banded thursday and feel horrible...gas pains in shoulders and chest! And even drinking or taking more than a teaspoon at a time makes me feel gross! I can SO listen to my body know as far as full or going to quick eating wow its amazingly different already. I'm basically on the same as preop liquid diet cept oatmeal which I hate! I want applesauce or something different! Lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
