Recommended Posts

i had my second fill on the 10th feb, since then my stomache feels really different, it like i can feel the tightness of the band, im on liquids at the moment and can move onto pured food this afternoon, but im scared to i have been eating Soups and putting extra Protein Powder in and Water i am loosing and have now after 11wks post op hit 50lb loss, but food is scaring me. i had a Soup today with small and i mean small chunks of vegies init which went down with out any problems and soup is now filling me up. the soup tub is 600g and i had half of it with Protein and water added. am i alone thinking this or does everyone have this. the weirdest part is the change to the way my stomache feels is this the restriction or is there something wrong. i have no pain just this feeling thats different.

I had my second fill Monday and my diet has changed. I got stuck the day after my fill and it scared me. I am very careful now to chew, chew, chew and take smaller bites. I am a little bit afraid also...so I know what ya mean! We cannot eat like we used to and if you are to get to your sweet spot then you must follow a set of guidelines that we all must adhere to. My portions are much, much smaller. But I'm in the same boat with the "fear" part of your post. The good news is my scale is actually moving again! Take care and best wishes!!!

I also had my second fill Wednesday and a had a problem getting anything down. I was having pain and having to drink my shake standing up. Even Water was causing pain, so I called the doc, went in and they took .5 cc off. Now I am having an egg and no problem. I feel the restriction but nothing is getting stuck.

After both of my fills, my stomach felt "weird" for a couple of days. The first fill's restriction only lasted about 3 days, and the second fill I got on Monday is still there, although it may have reduced just slightly.

However, I'm on solid foods after each fill right away. I've been very cautious eating the first couple of days, then after that, I go back to my normal "band way of eating." I find now, after my lunch and dinner meals, that while I wait an entire hour before drinking, when I do start drinking, I can still feel the food above my pouch, and if I drink too quickly or too much, it is uncomfortable.

I'm thinking it's normal. But maybe a vet can chime in.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
