Does anyone feel deprived...

Recommended Posts

I am just wondering , how to get my head space prepared for never having my favoite Snacks, sweets etc...I wonder in time if you just get over the cravings....

Full of questions , guess the doctoe will answer my questions on Monday..Just seeing what you guys felt when getting the banding done for the first few months , I am guessing that will be the hardest time....

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but yes, there are times I do feel deprived. I just have to tell myself over and over that those cravings are what got me here. I'm still working on my willpower - I do cave in occasionally and satisfy the craving. I eat significantly less than pre-band, so I'm sure I'm taking in far less calories. The result is that I'm losing slower than most - 38 lbs in 8 months. The upside is that I've lost that many lbs instead of gaining that many.

Sometimes I just "miss" eating like I used to. I have hopes that it will pass eventually. Good luck to you - you can do this!

Sorry, but it dosn't go away. there are days i would kill for a big mac or a bowl of Cereal even. it does suck sometimes only taking 3 bites of food and being done but when the end result is shown it is well worth it.

I do feel cravings from time to time, but I am so happy with my results that I choose to just look at the positive side of things. Plus I love how the lapband works...in the beginning I could eat everything I could eat before surgery...then with each fill I could eat less and less....it was a really great experience for me overall

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
