I had my 2nd fill yesterday. Up to that moment, I have had no pain, vomiting, or trouble eating anything. Since getting the fill yesterday, I have been in pain, constantly feel like I am going to vomit, and am having trouble eating and drinking everything. I had to get out of bed at midnight last night, and while up I had a sip of Water. It wouldn't go down and caused me to vomit. What do I do??

My doc said that if you can't take in fluids you will be dehydrated (needing to be hospitalized) in about 12 hours. Call your doc and let them know what is going on, only your doc can fix this.

I haven't vomited today and everything is staying down. But I have felt nauseated most of the day. Also, it is more comfortable to eat and drink standing up. If I sit for meals, I have some pain and it feels like acid reflux in the back of my throat. So based on that, you think I need to get an unfill, and I'm not just feeling restricted?

Okay, thanks for your advice. I will call in the morning and try to get a little taken out so I will feel better.

If you can't drink your Water, call your doc.

You had a fill yesterday and you were eating solid foods? Usually it's liquids only for two days after getting a fill to let the swelling go down.

I've been on liquids, plus a bit of yogurt all day. It was 24 hours since the fill at 9:30 this morning.

I talked to the docs office this morning and they are going to remove 1/2 of the fill.

Thanks for all your advice! I didn't know if it was normal restriction or a problem.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
