I think the band is working for me cause if I eat to much it comes back up. sometimes if I just takea bite it comes back up. What is the word for the chest pain and food coming back up. Is that a true stuck feeling. When I'm on my period that happens all week. Does anyone else have that problem? This time I got smart and stuck to mushies like potato Soup. Finally today I got to eat real food. Its so sad my four year old said mom be carefull you might puck agian. I guess I was doing that more than I thought. Today I had a egg and cheese stick for Breakfast. I still am not seeing a one or two pound loss a week like some say we should. I am eating 1000-1200 calories a day plus using the treadmill 7 days week for three 30 minute sessions a. day.which burns 600 calories day. I feel the weight should be coming off. In about two weeks I can join a gym can't wait. What exercises seem to help some of you? What foods have you guys been eating.

I eat lots of fish- mostly tuna and salmon. cheese sticks and yougurt for Snacks (U need 2 servings of Calcium a day). I found chili (1/2 cup) stays down well. I also do protien shakes and bars to be sure to get the required 60 grams of protien. I used to eat losts of chicken breast but since my third fill can't tolerate it. I stay away from fruit except for berries because of the high carb. content. I eat whole grain Cereal (fiber one, cheerios) sometimes.

I log everything i eat, counting calories and protien grams. I find this really holds me accountable. Hope this helps.

I'm having the same problem with getting stuck. I think it's because I don't chew well enough or I'm eating to fast but I get stuck at least once a day. And the chest pain is the worst it hurts so bad that I get afraid to eat again later. I started doing Weight Watchers and it seems to be working I've been losing 2 pounds a week. And I do walk everyday for at least 30 min to 1 hour. I try to get at least 10,000 steps on my peodometer so I stay active on a daily basis.

I often have trouble with breads coming back up, even things like Cereal. The chest/back pain is the feeling of something trying to fit through the little narrowing from the band. The esophagus expands to let it fit, but your band does not. Make sure you chew well, slowly, and swallow half bites instead of whole mouthfuls. That usually helps me. I have been able to eat just about everything as long as I eat carefully.

You shouldn't be outright vomiting because it can cause slippage of your band, so be gentle on your new stomach. Maybe you should talk to your doctor about calories and types of food you are eating to be sure you are on the right track.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
