illuminationlady 7 Posted February 10, 2010 It happened at dinner. I made a nice piece of Orange Roughy, rice and brussell sprouts. I got my second fill yesterday (5/10ccs). So, I'm halfway....Anyway, I took a bite of fish...no problem...then a brussell...keep in mind I'm hungry. I didn't chew the brussell enough and Bang there was that pain that everyone keeps describing to me. Right between my breast bone. I, like another poster on this forum, did my Lamaze breathing. It hurt like the dickens. Some sliming. No PBing. It passed and I was officially done with dinner. No problem! No brussell sprouts for a while either...lol. But NOW, I feel like a member of Bandland! Cocoabean 430 Posted February 10, 2010 You are now a veteran of stuckage! Welcome! Now, I can't imagine the pain an unchewed brussel sprout could cause! Owie! Chew, chew, chew!

illuminationlady 7 Posted February 10, 2010 Welcome to the club. But you have to admit, the pain is a great reminder to chew, eh? . Yes, yes it is. From now on I chew my food dutifully!!!
BetsyB 9 Posted February 10, 2010 Ouch! I'm glad you're feeling better now! The only way I was able to convince my husband, a lifelong Brussels spout hater, to eat the little buggers was to cut off the stem end and separate the sprouts into individual leaves OR cut them into coins, then separate them into leafy strips. If I quickly blanche them, and saute, they are really good. I bring this up because it really is a nice, band-friendly way to prepare them
illuminationlady 7 Posted February 10, 2010 I love them just steamed! But I guess that's a thing of the past. I did cut it up but didn't chew it enough. Thanks for the suggestion...I'll try it when I'm past my fear of them again...lol:w00t:
juliansmom2003 3 Posted February 10, 2010 Wow! I bet you were never so happy to get stuck LOL! I hope the restriction lasts for you!!
DebbieZig 3 Posted February 10, 2010 I got stuck on a brussel sprout also and I sure know the pain! It's awful! That's probably the worst thing that has been stuck for me, brussel sprout and an artichoke...be careful of them also!! I'm terrified to eat brussel sprouts now -- but I love them!
