I had my first fill this morning. I was banded on Jan. 13th. The fill took about 2 minutes: one stick, no numbing medication and no pain at all. Now I am back to liquids for 2 days. I've lost 22 pounds in this first month. My surgeon said this month I should aim for 6 to 10 pounds lost. I am very pleased with my band so far. I have had very little hunger since the surgery. How common is this? Sometimes I feel a little "hollow" but not what I think of as hunger. Will that last?

I have that feeling still occasionally. It never totally goes away for me.

Just what I want to read. No pain - no hunger. Nirvana.

That's the word! Hollow! I told my husband that since my last fill I've been really restricted (some most likely due to swelling) and have only been able to eat about 3/4 of a cup of food or less (depending on what it is) and I'm not hungry but I do feel 'off'. When you said you felt 'hollow', that describes exactly how I've been feeling!

It's not bad...just 'different'. I'm not sure if that feeling will ever go away for me since I have 40 years of walking away from the table 'stuffed'.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
