Fifth Fill and not doing well with liquid

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I hope someone out here can give me some good advice right now because I feel miserable. I went for my fifth fill today putting me at about 7.5 CC's. My last fill I could feel restriction for about two weeks and it let up a bit. I could still eat more than I wanted to. So, I go for my fill today (.75 CC's) and the nurse had to take out .25 CC's in order for me to get a sip of Water down. I leave the office and here comes all of this foamy stuff in my chest and throat. I have been spewing this all day long and still can't really drink much if anything. I called the Dr. office and they want me to wait a day to see if it improves due to the swelling my stomach has right now due to the fill. I just don't know what I can do to relieve my misery until tomorrow. I am tired of spitting!!! :) Any suggestions anyone???

I had a fill on thursday that 1cc, 2 weeks before that i had 2cc -- i went from 2cc to 5cc in 2weeks, it was a bit much but i had lost Fluid in dec at some point and i think my dr was trying to catch me up-

However i had a hard time with liquid for 2 days then they got better and i was able to add mushies, they were hard but then got better - today i was able to eat some chicken breast... i am VERY tight,, i feel it the minute i swallow but its getting looser .. id wait a few days and keep trying the liquid.

Make sure you're taking *tiny* sips of Water, but if you still are having trouble with Water tomorrow, I'd call them and get a slight unfill. They may not even need to take out more than .25cc...but you must be able to drink water. We can go a long time without food, but even a few days without water can lead to death. I think I read somewhere that 3 days without water and the body's organs start shutting down.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
