anyone having low blood sugar after weight loss?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone out there is having problems with low blood sugar. I started to notice last week that if i went longer then 4 hrs without eating i was getting Nausea, shaking, and just not feeling right. Well i went away with my parents this weekend and i didn't eat in a few hrs and i start to get the same symptons well my dad had diabetes so he told to to check my sugar on him machine it was only 55. My dad told me i have to make sure i am eating a snack between meals. I have a doctors appointment next week so i will tell the doctor. But this makes it so hard because i get so full and such a little amount and i can go 6hrs without even wanting food. And if i have to eat a snack it might slow my weight loss.

I have experienced something similar--if it is first thing in the morning or I haven't eaten in awhile, I'll get very lightheaded and things will go starry and dark like I'm going to pass out. My general physician said this is due to low blood sugar, but didn't offer any suggestions. Typically I'll be eating a meal soon after this happens, but if not, I will take a drink of juice or a small snack to keep me balanced.

Actually, your blood sugar bouncing around is what will slow your weight loss. A small snack when needed will speed up your weight loss, not slow it down.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
