Mini-Bash - LBT Lunch in IRVING TEXAS

Recommended Posts

Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Honorable Citizens of Texas (and anybody else who wants to stop by...), Bubbame (Mary) is coming to Irving....

Since so many of us live in the Dallas area, we are going to have a little get-together and meet each other and Mary.

Right now, we are planning on meeting up in the Lobby of the Howard Johnsons in Irving - BUT, if we are going to be more than 10 or 15, we probably need some slightly more formal arrangements.

Please RSVP to this thread if you will DEFINITELY be available for lunch at 1pm in Irving on November 5th. (That would be THIS Saturday).

If we are going to be a huge group, I will see to making some reservations and stuff for us - and we can meet there.

:]

Hey, is that 3 of us? I can't wait to meet you guys, (or should it be, ya'll?) LOL

I still have to get directions, but I can do it on the internet, unless someone just happens to know them.

OK - so it doesn't look like the crowd will be TOO huge. We can just meet in the lobby and go someplace close. I will research for a cool place for people on liquids or not...

come one, come all... It's not too late to join in.

Thanks Beanie! I've got my little map, and now I know where it is...I'm excited to meet everyone! Renee, for sure, you come on and meet us! I've been banded for 3 months, Betty for over a year, and Beanie is still fighting the insurance battle...that should give you a range of information!

Beanie - I am familiar with some places on Beltline. Let's see they have Applebee's, On the boarder, Popeyes, Williams chicken, Taco Bell, KFC, Chipolte's, Sonic, Boston Market, Blackeyed Pea, Soup and salad, Several different burger joints, Olive Garden, Fudrickers, and a lot more, ask me for one and I can tell you if I know it's there or not.

I guess we'll decide when we see each other in the lobby? So, do we need to wear a certain color? Put a flower in our hair? Carry our Inamed folders? LOL!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
