Fat Blockers and Snake Oil

Recommended Posts

Hey all;

I've a question.

Did any of you try the so-called fat blockers, Cortislim (and the like). What results did you have (if any). I don't believe in them, although I do love watching the commercials, especially the testamonials with the disclaimer "Weight loss not typical."

Thanks!

I have never used any fat blockers....but did you ever eat them chips by Frito Lay I believe....they have Olean in them? Some sort of fancy schmancy oil that your body doesn't absorb...so guess where it goes??? Out the other end......and your poopin all the time....Soo i would assume that the fat blockers would cause pretty much the same responce....NO THANK YOU~~~ phew~~~

Wasn't Refrigerator Perry a Fat Blocker?

I never tried them. But I had a friend who did. She was like the Energizer Bunny. She just kept going and going and going.

Tried Cortislim. It did NOTHING. Tried pretty much every brand of those damn chitosan and fat absorber pills. Lots of money. NOTHING.

Really, I've tried almost EVERYTHING out there....NOTHING works. *sigh*

And right now I need a fill so not even my damn band is working. *whimper*

Sorry....I'm so vain I guess I thought this thread was about me....lol!

I tried just about everything, metabolite, accutrim, slimfast, stacker 2's, and so on... the last thing I bought was the trimspa, it made my stomach hurt, and nearly all of them made me jittery or bitchy. NO THANKS!

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
