I feel your pain. This waiting game is killing me too! I had so hoped to have my surgery in February but will probably be March or April now!

I am in the same boat. Psych and Nutrition 2 weeks ago, and heart stress test last Thursday. I started this a month ago. I have had to wait 2 weeks to get into half of my Dr.'s let alone get them turned into surgeon .:)

I was supposed to have all of my pre-op appointments done in January. However, things were cancelled, rescheduled, cancelled, reschedule, etc. Today I am finally done with my last pre-op appointment. I haven't bene in contact with my doctor in a couple of weeks... so I have no idea what to do next. So, I know how you feel. It's frustrating!

I know exactly how you feel. I have been wanting the band for over 2 years now and finally my insurance changes to one that will cover it but I have to do a 6 month pre & supervised diet. I have 3 more months. The only thing that I have found that helps is researching the procedure. Looking at any and ALL information. I must have read every post on this forum. But it really helps and gets your mind set right. I even did the virtual model to know what I look like once I hit goal. Looked at menus to see how far in advance I will need to prepare food once I can eat solids. I have done all kinds of things. Even watched the procedure on Youtube. Those things really help though

HANG IN THERE YA'LL I know how frustrating it is to wait, use your time waiting wisely, start your supplements. let go of a bad habit , like Soda, make little changes now ... read labels and learn new recipes... if you use this as your training time life will be sooooooo much easier once you are banded ... trust me! Find a Protien drink you like. Start walking and doing some weights. Like I said it will be sooo much easier later if you start making the changes now....POSITIVE... THE GLASS IS HALF FULL!

This is one of the biggest decisions of your life.... life altering ;o)

Good luck to you all. Seize 2010! It is YOUR year!

HappyHomeCC,

Thanks for your very encouraging post! I have started drinking the Protein Shakes for breakast instead of having my usual sweet tea and cinnamon melt from McDonalds!!! My next goal is to drop sodas and caffiene. Like you said I think it will make it easier for me when I start my pre-op diet.

My psych consult is tomorrow and I have to attend one more support group meeting next Monday night. I am WAITING to hear from the cardiologist as to when my stress test and echocardiogram is being scheduled and after that everything should be ready to submit to the insurance.

Good Job MiMi for being PRO active.... When you have your nutritionalist and psych appts etc be sure to mention the changes you are making now. It helps them help you!

I saw the nutrionist last week and all she really did was go over copies of the diet that my surgeon wants me to follow pre-op, post-op and the rest of my life. I felt like the surgeon's office really could have done that. It was $78 and not covered by the insurance, but I'll do whatever it takes!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
