 It just doesn't let me down! I am losing slowly and steadily and still enjoyng the food I eat. I LOVE it! The best decision I have ever made (in terms of weight loss!) and I am so grateful for it!

Hey Lou Lou,

Am so please for you - I read your posts with interest and am so glad that you are mostly happy and upbeat about the whole thing.. So many of these forums you go on and everyone is so negative! Start my pre-op diet on Thurs and op on the 25th this month. I am of the firm belief that if i go into this with a positive attitude and don't try and cheat - that I'm going to better off (& lighter)!!!

Any tips or pointers that you have - especially for the pre-op diet to start with would be greatly appreciated! Cheers,

Thing Thin Thoughts!

Yes Lou ...you are always so possitive , its something I need to learn ..I have been a glass half empty kind of person all my life , always expecting the worst I HAVE to CHANGE...Hubby is a very Optomistic /possitive person ...Lucky for me couldn`t imagine having two sad sacks around , I hope when the banding is done and I can see the weigh coming off my spirits will lift.....

Looking forward to more of your happy possitive posts....

M.xx

I love my band too!!! It has not been easy, that is for sure! I think most of the reason I have been so successful is because of my positive attitude. I am really grateful for my band!!

I just had my 1st bandiversary and I am close to 30 kilos down. Since my last fill I am greatly restricted in what I can eat but I am still enjoying my new body and I am willing to accept the restrictions of my band. I still feel very positive and would recommend a band to anyone who is commited to a life change. I do have my down days but all I have to do is look in the mirror and I feel a whole lot better! My tip is to have fills and don't be discouraged if you can't eat some foods, - that is the whole point! I figure that I have eaten enough in my lifetime and now I have to accept that there are some foods that I will never eat again.

I feel very inspired by your story, congratulations on your weight loss,i feel the same way about the good foods,i guess when you commit to the band its time to give up the sweets and maccas.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
