Hi from Los Angeles!

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! I just had my surgery 1/29/10. that night and the next morning i couldn't stop crying. i wanted it OUT. I'm getting used to it now but I'm a very anxious person by nature. I'm so nervous about slippage and erosion! AHHHH.

Anyway...

HI!

Hey Sarah, where in Los Angeles are you?

I think I was worried about all kinds of stuff before my surgery too, but once I started noticing changes it sort of passed.

This is a great place for support, so if you have any questions, or concerns, just come here, and someone will be there with encouragement, or whatever you need at the time. I've always believed that talking, or writing in this case, really helps!

Good luck!

Debbie

I didn't want my band OUT, but I definitely wondered if I'd made the right decision in the days after I had surgery. The feeling has subsided over time, though.

hahaha actually... i haven't lost any weight since the surgery. thats all pre-op. BUT I have lost fat...it's turned to muscle. I look a lot different, clothes fit better, I'm able to move better. but I just had my first fill today and I'm not hungry at all! I had no restriction this morning and now I don't even think about food! can't wait for my second fill since this one won't last!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
