So I was visiting my daughter and grandchildren yesterday... (Nobody in my family knows I am banded) and I'm sitting there and she says to me...

"Mommy, what happened to your Calves?"...

I reacted weird (Defensively) becasue I thought something bad but then she said,

"They are Sooo Skinny"...

I smiled and told her it must be from all the Physical Therapy! (because I had reconstructive Knee Surgery two weeks after being banded...) Now this was very exciting to me as I have not been called Skinny since Phen-Fen 12 years ago....

Later when my other daughter popped in for a visit, while I was making lunch for the grandbabies, She also made a comment (And this one is very tiny, at 5ft 9 and weighing 104 pounds)... She said

"Mom, your withering away to nothing! Whats going on?"...

Again, I was smiling from ear to ear! I still have 50 or 60 pounds to go... What will they think then???

I just had to share my feel good moment....

Now if only my live in boyfriend would notice! He still can't see it! The crazy old fool... Maybe I'll take him for an eye test and see if he needs a new prescription... Better yet... I'll go away for 3 months and come back. I bet he'd notice then. LOL... Bwahahahahaha...

That's wonderful! Your live in boyfriend sees you every day and it's hard to see weight loss that way (but he could say something once and a while). But your daughter doesn't see you every day so that was why she saw the difference. Congrats on your weight loss and keep up the great work!!!

Congrats on the 'feel good' moment. They're better than actually seeing a weight drop on the scale.< /p>

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
