So how did you guys feel after your 2nd fill. I am doing the 48 hour liquid/ mushy but shouldnt i still feel some kid restriction. I feel I can eat more than before. He put 1cc in a 10 cc band that equals 4cc. The dr had hard time finding the port this time wounder why? Is that a bad sign? I made some cheesy potato Soup for dinnand it was so good. i put potatoes ragu cheese and sour cream onions salt pepper. I had on cup but I made it thin texture. Do you think that was to much? My doctor was very pleased with my weight loss he told me not to rush it. He said you will see inches at first more than pounds on the scale.< /p>

My Second fill brought me from 3cc to 5ccs and I was unable to each anything for about 5 or 6 days. I had to stick with liquids and creamy soups... Finally a couple of days ago, I was able to actually eat my oatmeal at a normal consistancy without making them practically liquid... I lost about 2.5 pounds during that time though... Yay me... Now I have been back on full regular foods since Tuesday and as long as I remember small bites and chew chew chew I'm doing okay... I slimed/PB'd a couple of times due to my own stupidity... Otherwise, I'm doing good. I go back on the 9th and I don't know if he will do another fill or leave me as is... I think maybe .5cc might be perfect.... Just a touch more restriction...

I had my second fill a few weeks ago, and I think they got it right. I eat well, don't get hungry for several hours after eating and have been losing 2 lbs a week, and I have lost 3 so far this week. I am not going to push it and risk getting too tight. I think I will hang out here until I stop losing.

I only get hungry when I have waited too long to eat and then I am hungry the rest of the day. Glad to hear y'all are doing well.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
