Well I went out and got a scale the day that I posted this and have not been happy with it. I think my doctor’s scale is like 5 pounds lighter than mine. In fact I’m pretty sure. I have been perfect on my post op diet and have only lost like a pound. :sifone:

Knowledge is power. Knowing what your body is doing is important.

I weight each morning after I get up. What it does for me is lets me know what is going on and if I need to make corrections.

My weight fluctuates. I also have a cheapo set of ring sizers and measure my fingers to get an idea of how much Water I may be carrying. My weight has gone up as much as 16 lbs in 2 days, but I knew it was Water.< /p>

If I go up a couple days in a row, I will evaluate what I am eating. For me, waiting a week wouldnt work. Daily keeps me reassessing my meals and exercise.

I have to agree--I do not count my weight but sometimes the scale lets me know. I notice my ankles was swollen--retaining water--sure enough five pounds gained. That let me know to watch my sodium intake.!!

Miss melissa, Every time I am at My Dr. office for a fill or follow-up, Theres always at least one person if not more carrying their scale along with them to Calibrate it against the Dr's.... If you think yours is off, take it in and weigh yourself on both. That way you'll know exactly how much it is off by and you can account for that when you weigh at home... Or you can calibrate it. There might be instructions with it to tell you how to calibrate it to be accurate...

i'm so glad someone started this thread. this is something i have been debating about for a while. we own a scale now but i only get it on it very rarely. too depressing. i was thinking about getting rid of it after the surgery but wasn't sure. normally when i am trying to lose weight i get obsessive and weigh daily and didn't want to go through that with the band and possibly get disappointed if i'm not losing as much each day as i'd prefer. but i thin i will keep the scale but only weigh once a week like another bander mentioned. =)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
