I just started a blog about my Lapband journey and wanted to share my link and hope that others will do the same. I don't have any followers yet but I would love for you to join my blog. So list your link and then come check out my page. (just fyi, it's not that interesting just yet, I'm still waiting on insurance approval, blah)

I started my blog, Dreams of Skinny High Heels, a couple of weeks ago (the link is below) and I have met some wonderfully supportive people and read their blogs and follow them as well.

I'll be sure to stop by your new blog!!

I applaud you. I didn't have the courage to share my story publicly when I first decided on surgery. I'm in my 4th year since surgery and decided to do a blog as a way of paying it forward and sharing my journey from the time I first began exploring surgery hoping that some of you who are earlier in your own journies would find it useful. It's a labor of love. Please take a look. I'd really appreciate feedback. Gloria's Banded Living — My Lapband Weight Loss Success Story

I'm following yours as well, HiMow...By the way, I love the photos of you with all the different haircolors. I used to dye mine all the time when I was your age (GOD, I sound old) but now that I'm living my soccer mom life instead of my old alternative/goth self, it's been the same color now for 2 years straight! (GASP!!!)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
