When you finish your meal do you need it taken away? I can not stomach seeing the rest of my food on my plate, I have to have it boxed or taken away.

Another thing I noticed is that I am a lot more sensitive to smells food wise. Are you?

When I am physically finished, the food needs to go away because if it doesn't I will eat more. it doesn't matter that I am full, mentally I will look at it and say I can't waste it or just one more bite won't hurt--and that last bite will cause me pain and pb'ing if I don't watch it. Even my husband gets grossed out because I'll have to run to the sink and put it down the disposal before I touch it again! it's purely mental.

Yes, I've noticed that my sense of smell seems more acute since being banded.

When we eat out, I just take some of my husband's meal onto another plate and I only take my 1 cup. When we eat at home, I'm careful to dish out only what I can have so there are no 'leftovers' on my plate. I don't have a problem with not eating everything on my plate, but I do have a problem with 'picking' at what's left even if I'm full.

I've always had an exceptional sense of smell and I haven't noticed that it has been any more so.

Elfiepoo, I wish my husband would do that. He eats his and the rest of mine and he seems as if he has gotten a little rounder as I have slimmed down.

Maybe you could ask for a take out box when you get your meal and just immediately put most of it in the box for another meal?

At most restaurants you can ask for half of your meal to be boxed up before it's served. I do this automatically when I order the food.< /p>

I usually cover my plate with my napkin when I am finished; otherwise I will constantly pick at my food. I will have to try having half of my dish boxed while I order - great idea!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
