Just joined this group and I am looking for some inspiration! My surgery was on 11/30/09. Presurgery weight was 243. This morning I was at 209. I am 5'6". I got my 2nd fill last Monday. I am now at a 4.0 in a 10cc band. I have been having alot of problems eating since my last fill. Lots of sticking and my heartburn is bad. My blood pressure pill even gets stuck and burns.

My biggest issue is that NOONE IS NOTICING!!! I have lost 34 pounds and noone even notices? I have went down a pant size. Has anyone else had this issue?

Today I am trying to start fresh and be possitive. I am going to be more faithful with the treadmill and I think I may start tanning a bit. Maybe at least I will feel better about myself!

Anyone have any encouraging words on whatelse I can do?

I just got my second fill last week and am now at 5ccs. I am only able to get down liquids and Soups for 98% of my daily intake... However, I lost 2.5 pounds since last Tuesday and I see my Dr. in only one more week, so I'm not going to go back for an unfill...

I have lost just under 25 pounds since my surgery on Dec 4th and only 3 People even know I had this surgery... My almost 60 year old Live in Boyfriend does not even know...

So one of my GF's who does know, sees me about once every 3 weeks or so and she commented on how fantastic I look and asked me if my BF has noticed yet... Since he hasn't commented or said anything I asked him... His comment was

"Oh, you've lost weight? I know you said you were going on a diet, but I saw you eating so I thought you gave up"

Okay, so Up until the second fill, I was able to still eat most foods and have been eating small portions off of a tea saucer... I said to him

"well duh, I have to eat... There is no diet where you don't eat at all"

So there you have it, I've gone from a comfy size 18 to a 14 which is very baggy on me and he has not noticed...

Be careful on the tanning. You don't want to lose weight and get healthy to live longer just to get cancer... However, I bought a full size tanning bed about 10 years ago and I can tell you you do look healthier and thinner when you have some color. LOL... I left it with my ex husband when I left him... I realized the damage I was doing to my skin and cancer of all types is so prevalent in my family that I had to give it up....

Good Luck! I'm sure if you saw someone you haven't seen in a few weeks they would definately notice your weight loss. I think those who see us every day will be the last to notice and only after drastic changes... I think my man won't notice until I lose about 50 pounds...

Are you still wearing the same clothes? I have found people notice when I pull out a smaller size from my closet (I have several sizes lol). Don't get discouraged, you are doing great. Keep up the good work!

There is truly a fine line between no one noticing and people NOT recognizing you at all. I went almost 40 pounds with no change in sizes, no one noticing, nothing........then all of a sudden tons of people can tell. I think you are close. Just wait and keep on doing what you are doing. You are doing great!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
