Thank you for the support. Today is a new day and I am bound to make this work! I'm getting ready to mix up a shake and put it in a measured drinking cup to monitor my progress and do only 2 oz at a time today. I hope to God it works. I'm so tired of being sick.

The good news is my 18 year old daughter and I are going to spend a movie day together!

How did today go?? It took me two weeks before I felt well enough to go back to work. The first week was spent in the bed. So, you are doing great, just remember to take it slowly.

Well yesterday I bloated up like a Macy Thanksgiving Day balloon. I'm thinking I'm lactose intolerant. I have a doc appt this morning and I'll be tackling that first thing. Took me 9 hours to deflate after drinking my shake and that made it hard to drink period. Ug.

I knew there'd be changes but I didn't think I'd have to relearn how to live completely. Anyway, thank you for mentioning the 2 weeks until you went back - that's what I'm asking for today. I originally was to return tomorrow but I'd like until Monday so I have more time to adjust. I'm not comfortable going to work and having no clue how to get Protein correctly and do this thing right. I feel like a mess. I'm so glad to be in the best of company on this forum as I notice so many of us going through this phase at one time or another

I'll post how it goes when I get back...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
