Hello all. I have been gone for a while but I am back now. I had gotten extremely discouraged after a 3 month plateau, but I am happy to report, that I have gotten over the hump and am on my way. I had gotten so discouraged that I stopped using Protein Shakes, stopped exercising, and even though I still watched my diet, was a little less restrictive and controlled. I couldnt take it anymore! I was doing everything perfectly and just couldnt lose weight! I have had a lot going on in my personal life within the last 2 months, more than I am prepared to discuss, and stuff one person should not have to deal with all in a short amount of time. But through it I realized that I have to get back on track. I have to get my body in the shape and condition I originally set out for. I was tired of being "lazy" about it and wanted some damn progress. Though I havent really started exercising again yet, I have restarted my Protein shakes and restrictive diet. I am happy to say that by doing so, in the last 2 1/2 weeks, I have lost 9 lbs. Not to mention I have found my new favorite protein shake!

Just remember, dont give up! Even when you think you can't do it anymore, find that inner strength to help push you back on track. Hope you are all doing well on your journey! To contintued success!:smile2:

Good for you getting back on track! Sometimes hard things in life make us turn to food. Do you think that happened to you? I enourage you to start your excersise program. It's so damn hard to start but once you do you will feel great. I write down everything I eat, that might help you get back on track. Best wishes, you can do it!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
