howdybooth 4 Posted January 27, 2010 Is it possible to eat too little and not loose weight? I was averaging about 500 calories per day and not loosing weight. Take into account my exercise, my net calories were about 200. My clothes are bigger and I'm down 2 sizes, about to go down another but my scale is not moving. Last week the doctors office recommended I eat 800 to 1000 cals per day. Should I just stay away from the scale?
LilMissDiva Irene 3,282 Posted January 27, 2010 If weighing daily or regularly makes you uncomfortable and feeling discouraged I would definitely not do it. Everyone is different on this. Me personally it's the only way for me to stay on track to weigh every morning. Then some people only weigh when they see the Dr. It's all a very personal choice. skinnygirl 1 Posted January 27, 2010 I was eating the same amount of calories and have not lost a thing in four weeks. Finally uped my calories 1000-1300 and have lost a pound. I burn off 600 of those calories with the treadmill though. I am losing inches, guess cause muscle weighs more. Surely sometime soon the scale will move agian. Its been week since I lost this time. I am getting so discouraged! Hope it gets better for both of us.
Jenschmitz 1 Posted January 28, 2010 That could be the case. see how you go with adding a little extra. are you hungry or not hungry with what you are eating? do you feel blah and tired with amount you are eating but not hungry? My surgery suggests about the same as yours-a little extra actually. about 1100-1200. I would eat healthy food though, to add to it. like a yummy kebab style thing-wholemeal pita, hummus, grilled chicken and chilli sauce.. yummm.. a whole pita is good for 2 meals anyway. 500 calories seems pretty low-even for lappy. Hop that helps!!!
contessnd21 0 Posted January 28, 2010 I tried the starvation thing but it seemed like i was gaining instead of lossing, so I talked to a trainer he told me that your body goes into a form of shock and it starts holding onto everything you eat because it does not know when the next meal is coming. That is why your body actually gains weight instead of lossing. I started eating from a meal plan delivery service called Bandtastic Meals and i have seen a huge improvement in my weight loss journey. Let me know what you think.
