Hi I was banded in May 09 also. Get back to basics. Cut down on the shakes, eat 1 or 2 eggs for breakfast. I have one egg on toasted pepporage farm flat bread. That should certinly hold you over. 1 egg and 1 flat bread is less than 200 Calories and the flat bread has a good amount of Fiber. lunch again more protien first, than veg. I am now working out 6 days a week so I might have a protien shake in between but the ones I buy are low carb only 100 calories. also drink your Water. Just get back to basics.

Breakfast - 1 egg, 1 pepporage farm flat bread, 1 wedge laughing cow low fat cheese. 1 tbs katsup

lunch - 6 onz bison burger, broccoli salad (Stemed than no fat dressing)

snack - 1 scoup Protien powder, 2 tbs 1/2 & 1/2, 2 cups coffie, ice, blended into smoothie. 6 Almonds

dinner - 6 onz chicken breast, with a mustard honey sauce. I also tried these Tofo Noodles, which were actually fairly good.

Now I am getting a bit hungry, planned a snack of 1/2 cup Trader Joes' High Fiber Cereal.

So far today has been a good day about 1000 cal, trying to do lower carb. I have been working hard the last week or so to get my food back on track. Was not bad before just too many carbs and for me it is hard to loose when my carbs are too high.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
