It's A Maryland Thang...

Recommended Posts

So who here like crabs? And do you still eat them? Every time I go to Myrtle Beach, I see this sign 'Maryland Fried Chicken'. We always get a laugh from that, especially since my family is all from the South. Now, crabs I think we're known for, but fried chicken? ??? Just went to the Inner Harbor Friday night, had a good time with friends and ate (not me, really) at the California pizza Kitchen. Hello, midshipmen!!!! Things I love about MD:

1. Terps!!!

2. weather

3. nice place to live!!

What I do not like:

1. price of real estate

2. traffic

Just thought I'd share....

Go Carrie, I do like crabs but I don't eat them often. I was spoiled growing up. My mother would open my crabs for me. I loved that. I learned how to open them but I didn't want to. I miss my mother a lot, some days worse then others. :cryShe's been gone about 13 years now. Anyhow, I think I'm having one of those days. I do love shrimp.

My brother went to MD U and is a Terp.

I can't think of any other place I'd rather live. I like the fact that I am so close to MD and VA.

That sounds pretty good...I had a momentary loss of sanity and tried to eat some spaghetti and some garlic bread. Yeah, it all came up. Not that I ate a lot, but I ate too fast and didn't chew, and I KNOW that I have trouble with bread and pasta...but it smelled so good! And everyone else got to eat it...I just got to relive every bite. Needless to say, I learned my lesson! Now, where's my low-carb shake? ???

Yeah, I am a U of MD graduate and terp. I love crabs and in the summer I eat them every weekend. As a matter of fact, I love all seafood. Yummy, it goes down quite well.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
