gatorgal 0 Posted January 24, 2010 I have bit a plateau big time! For the past few months (since Thanksgiving, really), I have stayed virtually the same weight. I chalked up some of it to the holidays, but after New Years, I started back to the gym 3-4 days a week doing at least 30 min of cardio and 20-30 minutes of weight training. I also had my fifth fill on Jan. 5. I feel much more restriction during the daytime, but I night, I'm starving. I really thought the fill plus the exercise plus journaling EVERY bite would help me break the plateau, but it's not. Any suggestions? By the way, I'm not giving up by any means, but I really would like to lose 20-30 more pounds. Thanks, Bandster Friends!
Diamondgirl81 0 Posted January 24, 2010 Hi, Have you talked to your nutritionist. Perhaps you need to adjust your calories. I've been banded about 6 weeks and my nutritionist had me up my calories once I hit a stall. It's worked out well and the scale has started to move again. Mimilou2004 13 Posted January 24, 2010 Ggal, it sounds like you are doing everything right. There are many opions about why the body plateaus and sometimes we just don't know why. The most common advice is to change your food intake up or down and to change what exercise you are doing just to "shake up" the staus quo. The last few times I hit a standstill and went back over my journal I found that I had gradually increased my portion size and added caloric beverages. Even 100-200 cals extra a day are enough to cause the wt loss to stop. Good luck and let us know how you are doing. Mimi
