I was told this wouldn't happen by my surgeon's office, but has anyone had to deal with a late period after their surgery? I haven't gotten my period this month yet, my surgery was Dec 28. I don't remember the exact date of my last period, but it was definitely before Christmas, and I'm guessing the middle of the month. Plus, since I'm not on the pill for a while I'm not on an exact schedule right now.

I DID take a pregnancy test and it came out negative...But I'm still freaking out a little bit.

Hun count your blessings!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will happen and it will happen HARD!

I stopped my BC pills in late oct and didnt really have much of a period since. I had my Sugery on 1/5 and on monday was crippled with heavy flow and horrendous cramping. My doc said it is a side effect of the Heprin blood thinner they shoot you up with in the hospital.

I'm telling you now. Get a heating pad and stock up on children's liquid motrin. You will need it.

I cannot wait to get the A-ok to go back on the pill.

Oh I'd rather have a heavy period right now than the possibility of being pregnant!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
