Congrats on being in Onederland! It is a great feeling. You will do well on the cruise--I got back from one recently and managed to lose 3 pounds. I stayed away from the buffet line and the soft serve ice cream machine, declined bread with my meals, and followed my rule of Protein first. I was so glad that I wasn't consumed by thoughts of food. Instead, I focused on the time with family. You will do well I'm sure!

Congrats, good for you and enjoy your trip. If I somehow can ever get to 200lbs (which may be too skinny) I have promised myself a new tattoo that will say "Half The Man I Used To Be"

I have been on several cruises and they do have healthy options. Portions are also fairly reasonable. Stay away from the alchohol of course. Have a great time!

Great job! I know how awesome it feels! And youll do great on your cruis, where are you going?

My last cruise was right after my first weigh in before my surgery so I knew I could not gain even a pound! I was on the cruise for 7 nights and didnt gain! There ARE lots of healthy choices!

Cruising is great, I went on 3 last year, and have 3 more scheduled for this year. The last 2 I went on was post banding, and I lost weight both times.

There is a scale in the gym on most ships, and the food choices that are out there are amazing.

Which ship are you sailing on?

First off thanks everyone loved hearing all the good news!

We are sailing on the Royal Caribbean line (Voyager of the seas)!

This is my 10th cruise I also love them, but up until 4 years ago I weighed 130 to 140, so never had a problem with the weight thing. (yes, gained over hundred pounds in 4 years long story). Would not go on cruise when I gained the weight.

This is my reward for losing over 40 pounds...but I do like the tattoo idea:lol:

Thanks again everyone, leaving tomorrow morning coming back 2/1.....will let everyone know how its goes.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Sandi

I am glad you posted this thread. My family and I cruise every year--going in October. I was wondering how cruising would be. On last year's cruise, I managed not to gain like usual, so maybe with the band, I can loose some pounds.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
